SO SAD: Cultists Kill NYSC Member In Bayelsa
A National Youth Service Corps, NYSC, member, James Onuh, serving with Bayelsa State Ministry of Works, was weekend killed by gunmen in Obele, a suburb of Yenagoa, the state capital.
Onuh, a civil engineering graduate of University of Agriculture, Makurdi, Benue State, died when gunmen, suspected to be cultists, accosted him close to his residence, and shot him at close range.
He was rushed to the Federal Medical Centre, Yenagoa, which workers are on strike, where he gave up the ghost.
Though authorities of NYSC in the state could not be reached for comment, the state Police Public Relations Officer, Asinim Butswat, confirmed the incident.
He said: “Gunmen, suspected to be cultists, attacked and shot him. He was rushed to the hospital where he later died. We are trailing the suspects and investigation is ongoing.”
