Liverpool 3-0 Villarreal (agg 3-1): Sturridge and Lallana send Reds into Europa League final
Liverpool booked their place in the Europa League final on Thursday with a comfortable 3-0 win over Villarreal at Anfield, beating the Spanish side 3-1 on aggregate.

The Yellow Submarine had a one goal advantage from the first leg, but it took just seven minutes for Jurgen Klopp's men to gain the lead on Thursday and pull level in the tie. Areola flapped at a cross, allowing Roberto Firmino to knock it back into the centre, where it struck Bruno Soriano and hit the back of the net.The tie was in Liverpool's hands midway through the second half when a Firmino shot was deflected into the path of Sturridge, who was able to tuck it home to make it 2-0.

Things got tougher for Villarreal when Victor Ruiz was dismissed with a second yellow card after a reckless challenge on Lallana.

And the Reds were able to capitalise on their numerical advantage shortly afterwards, with Lallana knocking it home from close range to wrap things up.
