Bartholomew Ibenegbu thinks that Enyimba can shock Sunshine Stars at the Akure Township Stadium on Wednesday.
The reigning Nigeria Professional Football League kings are looking to wake up from their slumber in the domestic scene, as they are 17th on the log, 12points adrift of leaders Enugu Rangers.
“We have forgotten our game against Etoile du Sahel and we are focusing on defeating Sunshine Stars because we are not in a good position of the league table,” Ibenegbu said.
“A win for us in Akure will take us up on the log and that is our major target and after that we will be focusing on our Caf Champions League return leg in Tunisia.
"On Wednesday, we will play a final because we are still dreaming about retaining our league title.”
The Nigeria international also insists Enyimba will bounce back from their poor start to the season in the coming weeks.
“This season , we signed close to 16 players and definitely,” he added.
“It will take time for the new boys to blend well with the players they met, that has been responsible for our slow start and I think we are overcoming it gradually.”
